XIMUWU
Turning dreams into reality is a large part of what we do. In this case our client had a clear vision for a space that truly reflected their unique personality. Our task was to make sure that personality shone through!
Ximuwu is a luxurious lodge in the Klaserie Private Game Reserve that focuses on providing universal access to all safari goers, and we were asked to create custom soft furnishings - scatters, curtains, blinds, etc - as well as a "wow factor" chandelier. The client provided us with their own hand-painted fabric - a first for us - and that's when the real fun began!
We created 3m-tall curtains that were literally works of art, with the gloriously gorgeous hand-painted fabric showing off the impressive height and becoming statement pieces in their own right. The piece de resistance was the recycled glass chandelier, crafted in Johannesburg by Stephen Pikus Designs as part of this award-winning design house's approach of turning trash into treasure.
The overall result was wonderful, rather masculine spaces filled with richness and no small amount of mood! We were thrilled at the way everything came together and that we nailed the clients' vision with room to spare!
