EKHAYA BUSHVILLA
This project required a six-bedroom home to be turned into a luxurious bush villa "Airbnb" property, so we had to get creative with the design. We repurposed furniture and created a neutral colour scheme with lots of whites and greys.
Given that the space was small, we had to find solutions to make the furniture work. We added fishtrap lighting and used vibrant African fabrics for the outdoor cushions, adding spot colours to the neutral areas to create pops of fun and interest. We also incorporated traditional African indigo cloth and raffia here and there to add texture, along with funky Trechikoff prints here and there and tribal designs to break up the neutral palette.
It was a fun challenge to make the most of the space and create a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests.
