We designed a tented camp that's perfect for the South African market. It's comfortable and has a back-to-basics feel to it. The camp is successful and offers good beds, linen, and food. We moved away from over-the-top designs and kept things simple. We sourced everything and used army beds. We also made our own mosquito nets and printed cushions and fabrics. For the floors, we used a lot of kelim carpets and did lots of layering. We had Spanish chairs custom-made and used senufu beds as tables. The overall vibe is very rustic and everything was either sourced or handmade. We also added plenty of hooks so guests can hang their belongings.
